Standards and Protocols

 These are our standards and protocols for going on an investigation with NYPAPS

 

~      research the location's history and background before you go there.  After you go you may and should go back to your historical society and double check anything you feel should be checked.  HISTORY IS IMPORTANT!

~     Never go alone or wander off by yourself.

~     NEVER go if you are not feeling up to par!  (if you are tired, sick, scared don't go)

~    NO WEAPONS on investigations

~    Say the opening and closing prayer

~  When you arrive at the location introduce yourself to the spirits. Let them know you are not going to hurt them.

~     No whispering during an investigation.  This can be mistaken for an evp.  If you whisper accidently just be sure to say I just whispered or whoever is with you say he just whispered. 

~    Please do not where any perfumes. 

~   Do not trespass ask permission and let the police know who and what you are doing.  A cemetery closes at dusk ask if you can go after hours.

~   Always be polite to them they were human once.

~    Do not go on an investigation during rain, snow, or foggy conditions.

~    If we are in a home or building please wait for dust to settle before taking pictures.  Please respect the owners rights,  wishes and properity.

~    Take off any wrist strap that is on your camera. Tie back long hair.

~     Don't take pictures of lights, towards sun or moon.

~    If on a dirt road don't take pictures while cars are going by you or you're walking.  I said before, this is not a portal just a dust storm.

~    No ruff housing on any investigations.  Have respect for the spirits and property. Yes have fun but lets make it calm and appropriate.

~   Make sure cam corder is on and on night vision.

~    If walking with camcorder watch where you are walking.

~    New batteries and tapes on every investigation.

~    When asking questions stop and listen for a minute or two.

~    During an investigation keep a positive attitude.  Good spirits will sense your fear and may stay away so as not to scare you. They really don't want to scare anyone.  Inhuman (evil) will feed off your fear and will use it against you.

~    Don't provoke spirits or say mean and nasty things to them.

~ No alcohol or drugs you leave yourself open to see things that aren't there.  You are also vulnerable for the inhuman spirits.

~    No Ouija boards, seances, or spell book.  We don't approve of them at all.

~  When leaving always thank the spirits for their time and patience.  Tell them good bye and say your closing prayer.

              

 

 

 

 

 

First and for most learn the protection prayers.  Here are some to choose from.

The Lords Prayer;   Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Hail Mary;   Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary , Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen

Prayer to Saint Michael;  Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, thrust into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who wander the world for the ruin of souls. Amen

DO NOT GO ALONE/  NO TRESSPASSING/  USE GOOD OLD FASHIONED COMMON SENSE/ 

Now for the hunt;  If it is foggy, rainy, or snowing call it off for tonight, we want positive results not moisture, rain or snow orbs.  Bring cameras, tape recorder's, lots of batteries, flashlights and any other equipment you might have.  Run your tape players as soon as you enter the location, you may want to wait on the pictures about a 1/2 hour.  This gives time for any dust to settle and for the spirits to get used to you, they will check you out first.  If it is dusty you may want to wait longer.  A few things to remember: introduce yourself to the spirits, tell them what you are there for, ask them if you can take their picture, and if they can talk to you.  Also remember if for whatever reason you feel uncomfortable, and I don't mean scared because it is your first time, but uncomfortable because it feels like something isn't right then LEAVE, this is your mind telling you something isn't right, you should listen to your instincts.  This brings me to the next thing, if you feel like you should take a picture in a certian spot go for it!  Snap away and keep on snapping.  If you have your video camera you can do one of two things either walk with the camera while filming or set it down at a certain area that you think is active.  Just do not forget where you left it.  Another thing to remember is, do not take pictures of things that reflect light from your camera.  Your tape recorders you can do the same as the video either leave them or carry them, we bring a couple of recorders and do both.  Start talking to the spirits as if they are standing right in front of you and remember to be polite, this is your first time meeting them and you want them to be responsive to you in a positive way.  After you have asked them a question stop walking and pause for a couple of minutes, this gives them time to answer your questions.  Remember NEVER SPEAK ILL OF THE DEAD!  You never know who is standing next to you listening to your every word.  When you are about to leave make sure you say thank you for your time and your patience, who knows they may say your welcome. 

 

Here is a closing prayer you can say so the spirits do not follow you home.  Say this prayer right before you leave the location.

Closing prayer;  In the name of Jesus Christ I command all human spirits to be bound to the confines of this cemetery( or where ever you are)  I command all inhuman spirits to go where Jesus Christ tells you to go, for it is he who commands you.  Amen

 "WE DO"

 ask permission and call local authorities if necessary

 research, deeds, censuses, court cases, historical records, birth and death records

 an interview at the location, a walk thru first, get a release and all other forms signed

 respect property, respect wishes of others before, during, and after an investigation

 a meeting with owners to show and tell them our theories on any results we got

 act in a professional manor (not to say we don't laugh now and then)

try to rid your home of spirits, if you so choose

will get you help, if we can not

if we feel it is demonic, we will contact a demonoligist

  a follow up call or visit

 "WE DON'T"

 push ourselves on you, we don't go if you don't want us there

just say "yes your house is haunted" and leave

 lie about our results

 put anyone in danger

 trespass
